Chula Vista Art Fest

Chula Vista Art Fest is an annual event hosted by the city that celebrates the South Bay art community. Along with a group of fellow local artists, I was invited to live paint an artwork inspired by the yearly theme. Together, our commissioned works have been displayed as a collection at local library branches and at Chula Vista City Hall.

In 2023, each of us painted one of the words “chula,” “vista,” “art,” and “fest”. Inspired by the sun rays, mountains and waves of the city’s logo, I painted my vision of the local landscape, featuring my favorite native plants and my signature vibrant color palette.

The theme for 2024 was “Written in the Stars.” Once again, I reimagined the Chula Vista logo, but this time as a colorful nighttime scene.
